Brett Hekman – A Grade Electrician
CEC Certified Installer & Designer
Brett is the current owner of Rockys Electrical/Rockys Solar and plans to lead the business into the next 40 years. Brett lives in Cowwarr and has worked for Rockys for 12 Years.
Brett appreciates the amazing things we can do with technology in this industry today. By adding a bit of electronic or logic smarts to a job, we can achieve limitless functionality.
Brett is currently finishing an Electrical and Electronics Engineering Course at Deakin University. When he has spare time, Brett enjoys Motorbikes – Road and Dirt, Camping, Fishing, Travelling and Road Trips and enjoys going to the Footy or the Races.
Brayden Granville – A Grade Electrician
Brayden lives in Cowwarr and works for Rockys Solar as an A Grade electrician and is a CEC Certified Installer.
Brayden has been working for Rockys for 8 years and enjoys learning new skills and being part of a team. Brayden’s spare time is taken up with his young family.
Dan Jones – A Grade Electrician
CEC Certified Installer & Designer
Dan began his Electrical Apprenticeship with Rockys Solar 6 years ago and has been a fully qualified A Grade electrician and CEC Certified installer and Designer for the past year.
Dan lives in Heyfield and in his spare time he enjoys camping, fishing and farming.
Shane Powell – A Grade Electrician
Shane lives in Sale and has been working at Rockys as an A Grade Electrician since 2018.
Shane enjoys working with a great team and when he’s not at work he can be found watching motor racing, fishing and spending time with his family.
Joel Lipman –
3rd Year Electrical Apprentice
Joel lives in Maffra and has been an apprentice since 2018. When it comes to the job, Joel enjoys being able to travel to unique locations all over Gippsland, being hands on, physical, and problem solving.
Joel is 20 years old and grew up on a dairy farm in Stratford. He went to Maffra High School and left in year 11 to start his electrical apprenticeship in Phillip Island, he then moved back home to continue his apprenticeship with Rockys Solar.
Some of the things Joel gets up to in his spare time are camping, four wheel driving, fishing, and hanging out with mates.
Giacomo Di Lullo – 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice
Giacomo, affectionately known as Omo, lives in Traralgon and has been working for Rockys Solar since 2018.
He is currently a 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice. Omo loves everything about his job, but most importantly, he likes seeing happy customers once a job is complete.
In his spare time, Omo likes going to the beach and hanging out with friends.
Brendon Riley – 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice
Brendon is 19 years old and is from Heyfield. Brendon works for Rockys as a 3rd Year Apprentice Electrician.
He has been working at Rockys Solar for the past three years and enjoys learning new things that will help benefit his future.
In is spare time he enjoys going to Dargo in his 80 Series (pictured left) and taking long walks along the beach with his dog.
Max Van Der Zwart – 1st Year Electrical Apprentice
Max is from Briagolong and works at Rockys Solar as a 1st year Electrical Apprentice. He enjoys the view he gets from the roof while installing panels.
In his spare time he loves footy and having a punt.
Thomas Nash – 1st Year Electrical Apprentice
Tommy lives in Stratford and has been working with Rockys Solar as an electrical apprentice since early 2020.
He enjoys learning news skills and when he’s not at work he spends time at the gym, snowboarding and surfing, he’s also a fan of watching Aussie soap Home & Away.
Brayden Cunningham – 1st Year Electrical Apprentice
Brayden (Billkat) Cunningham has been a Sale resident his whole life. Billkat has been working with Rockys since mid 2018, organising stock at the Rockys Solar Cowwarr Depot and helping out as a labourer as required. Billkat has recently decided he’d like to do more and is now a mature aged first year Apprentice Electrician.
Billkat enjoys being part of the team and is inspired by working with renewable energy fixing the world one house at a time. He enjoys fishing, camping and footy in his spare time and it’s rumoured he once told Max Gawn he’d “have him in a ruck contest”.
Chris Trbovich – A Grade Electrician
Chris is from Traralgon and is employed by Rockys Electrical as an Industrial Electrician, Chris mostly works at the ASH Mill in Heyfield and has been working with Rockys for the past 6 years.
Chris enjoys the challenges of different dealing with faults each and every day. When he’s not working, Chris enjoys being a father, cooking, golfing and has qualified and competed in a state poker tournament.
Paul Cropley – A Grade Electrician
Paul grew up in Sale and currently lives in Traralgon. He works full time at the ASH Mill in Heyfield as a Maintenance Electrician and has been working with Rockys Electrical for the past 6 years.
Paul enjoys working in an interesting and varied environment and enjoys the continual challenge the job provides.
In his spare time Paul enjoys miniature wargaming.
Ryan Dowsett – A Grade Electrician
Ryan is from Maffra and works at Rockys Electrical as an Industrial Electrician at the ASH Mill in Heyfield. Ryan has been working for Rockys for 4 and a half years. Ryan enjoys the challenges of fault finding automated machines.
When he’s not busy keeping the Mill running, Ryan enjoys going camping, playing tennis, and badminton. Ryan was in the Gippsland Sports Academy for badminton as a junior badminton player, representing Gippsland in Melbourne.
Beth Harris – Administration
Beth has been working for Rockys Solar since October 2017. She began working out of our main office in Cowwarr and moved over to the Solar Showroom in Sale where she assists customers with solar inquiries, helps customers navigate their Solar Victoria rebate applications, processes new solar connections and runs the website and social media.
In addition to admin roles, Beth gained many skills while operating a web design business here in Gippsland and has been involved in social media and podcasting for popular TV shows including Firefly, Stargate, Castle, and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. When she’s not at work Beth attends pop culture events like San Diego Comic Con and enjoys travelling and outdoor activities like fishing in her Hobie kayak or boat.
Rebecca Fairbrother – Administration
Bec works at the Rockys Solar Solar Showroom in Sale where she assists customers with solar inquiries, setting up appointments, assisting customers with Solar Victoria rebate applications, post installation paperwork and general administrative duties. She grew up in Cowwarr but moved to Sale about 3 years ago. Bec has been employed at Rockys since early 2020. She enjoys meeting clients and learning more about solar systems and the solar industry in general.
Bec is a mum of a toddler so much of her spare time is spent with household duties but she enjoys adventuring to new places with her family and friends. Bec is always up for a 4WD mission, camping, fishing, and pretty well anything that involves being outdoors and she makes an amazing Lemon Meringue Pie!
Olivia Howlett- Administration
Olivia lives in Cowwarr and she has been working in administration at at Rockys Solar depot in Cowwarr since July 2020.
Olivia helps in many areas of administration including answering customer inquiries, booking appointments, invoicing and payroll.
Olivia enjoys helping helping support our customers through their solar and electrical jobs and when she’s not at work she enjoys anything that involves the
beach.
Alan Griffin – Solar Sales
Alan is from Cambridgeshire, England but has been living locally for many years. He has been employed with Rockys Solar as a sales consultant since September 2017
Alan enjoys helping people understand their usage and how to maximise their savings by installing the right solar system, he loves feedback from excited customers telling him how much they’ve saved on their electricity bill after installing solar.
When not at work Alan will usually be found engaged in some form of sporting activity, involved with local cricket and picking up table tennis recently after a 35 year break. Alan’s made a hole in one in both the Southern & Northern hemispheres, 18th at Heyfield Golf Course & 7th at Itter Park Pitch & Putt.
